Mums Supporting Families In Need Inc (MSFIN)

Mums Supporting Families In Need Inc. (MSFIN) is a community-based, not-for-profit charity that works in partnership with welfare organisations to repurpose and distribute quality second hand material aid to families in need, at risk and in crisis. MSFIN believes no child should go without essentials, and this belief guides their every action. The aid we provide is largely child and nursery related, including essentials like prams, cots, car seats, high chairs and bassinets, but we also provide clothing, linen, footwear, toiletries and food to the whole family.

Families in need access our services via other NFP community support organisations who order on the clients’ behalf. This ensures the needs are genuine, and also provides greater resources and support to the families beyond our scope and reach. We currently support over 70 organisations, and assist over 130 families per month. Our aid averages at approximately $45,000 per month, at conservative values. Families that access our services are typically from backgrounds including family violence, refugee/migrants, at risk pregnancies, substance abuse and mental health issues, children with significant additional needs, and other severe circumstantial crises.

WHAT POSITIVE IMPACT CAN YOUR DONATION MAKE?

$50: could provide a family with a food and toiletries hamper, or a week’s worth of formula for 3 babies.

$145: could provide a baby with a brand new cot and mattress to approved Australian Safety Standards, or would fund the purchase of over 5 second hand prams.

$500: would fund MSFIN’s service for over 4 days. During this time, they would assist over 17 families. Or it would fund the purchase over 4 brand new car seats suitable for newborns.
